Obrela Supports Fortune Greece Network Event on “Building Digitally Secure Businesses”

Obrela proudly participated in and supported the Fortune Greece Network event held on June 12th at Atraktos, titled “Building Digitally Secure Businesses.” The event brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and business professionals to discuss the growing importance of cybersecurity in the digital economy.

During the event, the Obrela team presented insights on SOC4SME, a European Union co-funded initiative offering free cybersecurity services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Greece. The SOC4SME program is delivered in collaboration with a consortium of partners and operates under the auspices of the National Cybersecurity Authority. Its mission is to strengthen cybersecurity awareness among SMEs and to facilitate the adoption of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services for a targeted group of businesses.

SOC4SME: Enhancing Cybersecurity for Greek SMEs

The SOC4SME initiative aims to bridge the cybersecurity gap for SMEs by providing tools and services tailored to their unique needs, with a focus on:

  • Raising awareness of cyber threats
  • Simplifying access to cybersecurity resources
  • Delivering practical, scalable security solutions

Obrela also contributed to the discussion on the impact of the NIS2 Directive, which introduces expanded cybersecurity requirements for organizations, including SMEs. As highlighted in the session, SMEs face several key challenges in cybersecurity:

  • 47% of SMEs have limited or no understanding of how to protect themselves
  • Only 8–14% of businesses with fewer than 250 employees have a dedicated cybersecurity budget
  • Many SMEs are part of larger supply chains and manage sensitive data, yet operate with weaker defenses
  • 50% are not adequately prepared for cyber incident recovery

To address these challenges, Obrela emphasized the importance of:

  • Implementing effective risk management frameworks
  • Developing customized cybersecurity policies
  • Identifying priority areas and crafting targeted cyber strategies
  • Engaging trusted and knowledgeable cybersecurity partners to navigate the complex threat landscape

The event was hosted by Fortune Greece Network, part of FORTUNE, one of the world’s most respected business media brands with over 4 million readers globally.
